Letter to the PM

You must have certainly understood the dirty game the Congress is playing to stall important legislations like the GST, Land Acquisition , The Labour Reform etc to name a few. Yes, the BJP did the same to Congress and now it is the turn of the Congress to give it back to the BJP in their own coin. Who bothers if you stalled it for valid reasons when there were strong reasons for BJP to demand resignations of the likes of Raja, Anand, Dayanidhi Maran etc. People see the net outcome and that was that the parliament did not function in either case.

So, what is the solution ? Do we continue to see the parliament non – functional either because of BJP or the Congress or Some Other party? The nation is being held ransom by some politicians, who are spine less and soulless. How long we will sell this logjam ?
I think you are a matured statesman. Please do not bring the egos in the picture. Face the Parliament and Say sorry for whatever the BJP had done in past even though you had reasons. Please forget all that and seek forgiveness and request the members of the house to rise above the petty politics for a better tomorrow.

Then, play the  masterstroke – tell both the houses that the same BJP they all thought stalled the parliament earlier is ready to come out with a bill – constitutional amendment seeking :
Punitive actions for :

  • Members having attendance less than 70 %, without permissions from the Speakers of the Houses
  • Members entering the well and shouting slogans
  • Members using abusive language in the hous
  • Members showing placards in the house
  • Members / Parties trying to stall the smooth functioning of the houses
  • Members not allowing a member to speak / put forward his views

The punitive action could be :

  • Proportionate Salary Deductions
  • and or suspension from house
Suspension should start with 1day & 1 Green card. Two such yellow cards should attract a suspension for 3 days and a Yellow Card. Three such yellow cards should attract automatic disqualification of member for rest of the session.

This action will take the wind out of the parties who oppose this path breaking bill. Involve the select committee to take their opinion. Make this a public debate and build a national opinion in your favour

Please believe my gut feeling and take a bold call.

OPen Letter to the PM

I am your die hard supporter, but somehow i am getting a strong feeling that on the following issues the government actions appear to be tentative and not at all proactive.

  •     OROP - why the veterans of armed forces are being subjected to such an embarrassment, particularly when you, the defense minister, the home minister , all have been saying that it is a matter of few days only. On one hand you have doled out huge sums for Bihar ( Certainly keeping the other eye on the elections ) then why not declare OROP. It is a shame if deserving people are made to fight for their rights. if financial burden is the issue, the 125 crore people of the country will not hesitate to pay additional tax levied as cess, to particularly take care of our retired armed forces. You know us we have done that by opting out of LPG subsidy.
  •      The spiraling food prices is another area of big concerns. The monsoon was supposed to be poor this year. We came to know about it well in advance. Then why the government did not import essential items like pulses, onions etc well in time ? Why the government has not declared limits for storage of such items to curb hoarding ?

  •        The government is to be squarely blamed for many delays in getting the bills cleared in the both houses of the parliament. Please note that the earlier governments too had the problems of numbers in the upper house, but still the Narsimharao Government, The Vajpayee Government and the UPA I & II have had much better success rate. It appears that the floor management is very poor. Secondly, it appears that there is lack of transparency.  Take the case of GST. The congress feels that you will change or not accept the recommendations of the select committee or some parties.

In all it appears that either the government is lacking the political will or succumbing to the pressures or the bureaucracy and that should not be acceptable to a person like you. Please take strong punitive actions against ministers / MPs or the bureaucrats who are stalling the wheel of growth. Please note that you will be remembered for your actions or no actions. Action will bring you back in power again and again and Non - action will throw you out the next time. Choice is yours, sir
