From My Diary

It is really shocking and sad to see the current state of affairs in the politics at national level. The main issue of Nuclear Deal was long back pushed to the side lines and the number game has caught on the center stage. This is not very new. The coalition era has thrown out possibiliteis of party switch overs, money laundering, exchange of favours, match fixing like practices and horse trading etc whenever a situation like the current trust vote arrises. Then why blame the sports. Why only the sports should be excluded or kept out of these exciting opportunities. Every one should get a fair chance to make money. When it is alright for our Leaders and Guides of the nation, When it is alright for the big fish in the corporate world to play similar games for short term and long term gains, when it is possible in every other walk of life, why the sports should be spared from this excitement. When there is coruption around us, and every where, I recommend that some one should put a P I L in the supreme court . I am sure the honurable judges would certainly consider it favourably. Why ? even the judiciary has had its share of blemishes, so where is the problem? But jokes apart, I shudder to note the levels to which we have stooped down. In fact , as they say, it is always a top down effect. When our torch bearers, the leaders of the nation indulge in such practices, how can we , the common citizens remain isolated or insulated ? Today the corridors of power are ladden with strident voices of politicians, openly demanding positions of power or money in exchange of a vote , for or against the motion. The media too is enjoying it with breaking news about latest status on the positions of the government and the opposition. No one is talking about the idealogies, the real issues. No one is clear if the nuclear deal is good or bad for the nation. No one wants to really make this a national debate. Horse Trading is at its' peak. I can not understand why the hounarable President yields to the demands of either party and gives so much time to prove the majority in the trust vote ? In fact a week or 10 days is too long a period to allow either party to use all the resources, muscle and money power, assurances etc to woo the smaller groups or independents or even to indulge in poaching. It is then a free for all game. You call it a fish market, or a MP Bazar or Horse Trading, the net result is the same. Do you see a Change possible ? I will dwell about it in my next posting. Till then have fun. Don't miss out on the excitement in next two days. I don't think a T 20 game or a nail biting foot ball match or a formula 1 race would provide such thrill and excitement.
